The integrity of a seamless tube allows it to handle much higher internal pressures and external stresses compared to welded alternatives. Additionally, the internal bore is exceptionally smooth, which reduces the "pressure drop" in the system, meaning pumps and compressors can operate more efficiently. Finally, seamless tubing provides better aesthetic quality for exposed installations and a more reliable surface for soldering and brazing, as there are no weld-residues to interfere with the filler metal flow.
