Phosphorus Deoxidized Copper, commonly known as DHP (Designated High Phosphorus) or C12200, is the "Workhorse Alloy" of the modern plumbing and HVAC world. At Zhejiang Jingliang, we produce C12200 by adding a small, controlled amount of phosphorus (0.015% to 0.040%) to the molten copper. This phosphorus acts as a "Scavenger," effectively removing all oxygen from the metal. While this slightly reduces the electrical conductivity, it drastically improves the "Weldability" and "Ductility" of the material. This makes C12200 the only choice for seamless tubes that must be bent, flared, or swaged on a construction site. It is perfectly suited for "Phase-Change" environments where high-pressure refrigerants or boiling water are constantly flowing through the system.

Our C12200 DHP copper is manufactured through "Master-Alloy" infusion during casting, ensuring that the phosphorus is perfectly distributed throughout the tube wall.   • Q: Why is phosphorus added to the copper?
  • A: Phosphorus removes oxygen. This makes the copper much easier to weld and braze without it becoming brittle and cracking under heat.
  • Q: Can I use DHP copper for electrical busbars?
  • A: While it will conduct electricity, DHP is 20% less conductive than ETP copper. For electrical applications, you should use C11000 or C10200 instead.
