Chromium Zirconium Copper (CuCrZr), specifically the C18150 grade, is the premium choice for resistance welding electrodes and high-stress electrical components. Pure copper is too soft to withstand the mechanical pressure and intense heat of spot welding; it would "mushroom" or deform after just a few cycles. At Zhejiang Jingliang, our CuCrZr is alloyed with approximately 1% Chromium and 0.1% Zirconium. Through a specialized process of vacuum casting, hot forging, and age-hardening, we create a material that is significantly harder and more heat-resistant than pure copper while still maintaining about 80% of its electrical conductivity. The addition of zirconium is key—it raises the "Softening Temperature" of the copper, allowing the material to maintain its hardness even when working at red-hot temperatures on a high-speed automotive assembly line.

Our C18150 rods and blocks are manufactured to meet the strict standards of the RWMA (Resistance Welder Manufacturers' Association) Class 2. The microscopic structure of our CuCrZr is optimized to prevent the "pick-up" or sticking of zinc-coated (galvanized) steels, which is the most common cause of electrode failure.
