Industrially, soft copper is used in the manufacturing of heat exchangers and condensers where the tube must be bent into a "U" or "S" shape. It is also essential for oil and fuel lines in automotive and marine applications, where vibration resistance is required—soft copper can absorb vibrations much better than hard-drawn pipe, preventing fatigue cracks over time.

Packaging, Payment, and Shipping

We package our annealed coils in shrink-wrap with heavy-duty cardboard boxes or plastic "donuts" for protection. For LWC coils, we use vertical or eye-to-sky pallets with protective cardboard layers. Payment is typically T/T (30/70) or L/C at sight. We are experienced in shipping soft copper globally, taking special care to ensure the coils are not crushed by heavier items in the container. Our logistics team provides all necessary export documentation, including Mill Test Certificates and RoHS compliance. For wholesalers, we can provide private-label branding on the boxes and the coils themselves. Because soft copper is more sensitive to physical impact, we use extra dunnage and air bags in our containers to ensure your shipment arrives in the same "ready-to-use" condition it left our factory.

  • Q: Does soft copper have a lower pressure rating than hard copper?
  • A: Yes, the annealing process lowers the tensile strength, which reduces the burst pressure compared to hard-drawn pipe of the same size. However, it is still more than sufficient for standard HVACR and plumbing codes.
  • Q: Can I "re-anneal" copper if it gets too hard?
  • A: Technically yes, by heating it to a cherry-red color and cooling it, but this can cause surface oxidation. It is always better to buy factory-annealed bright copper for the best results.
  • Q: How do I prevent the pipe from kinking?
  • A: For very tight bends, we recommend using a spring bender or a mechanical lever bender. For larger radii, our soft copper can be bent by hand without issue.
